Museum of Religious Art of Pilsen Diocese

Within your exhibition tour, you can visit, among other things, the monastery canteen (summer refectory), the monastery cloisters (gallery), the Chapter Hall with St. Barbara’s Chapel, and the cloister garden (central yard).

The exhibits include works of art from different periods of time, liturgical items and chasubles, as well as texts which put the above-mentioned things in connection with the Christian life and explain their meaning.

BREWERY MUSEUM

The story of beer from the Middle Ages to the present. Come to see the smallest jug in the world, beer brewing laboratory, Gothic malt house.

PILSEN HISTORICAL UNDERGROUND

The tour will take you through a labyrinth of passageways, cellars and wells built below Pilsen as early as from the 13th Century. You will get to see life below the town and uncover the secrets of authentic finds and nooks and crannies that are hidden underground.

Zoological and botanical garden Pilsen

Some of our exhibits, units and pavilions are quite unique for the whole Czech Republic. For example a reconstructed war underground shelter, which we call “the Underground World”. Visitors can see there nocturnal or underground living animals. Unusual is also the Czech River exhibit with very large fish (catfish, carps and pikes) or playful otters.

Puppet museum

Puppets have delighted and entertained generations of people for many years, but puppets also have their own personal stories. Some have travelled with theatres, others have made entire audiences laugh thousands of times, some have performed in terrifying childhood dreams or have become famous around the world. You can experience almost anything through puppets, going as far as your imagination will allow. 

Museum of ghosts and fairy tales

The museum immerses you in the magic world of fairy tales from the old city of Pilsen and its surroundings. The mythical prince Radouš, water sprites, witches, Saracen devil, fire-dog, dragons and other bouncing vermin belong to the region under the Radyně castle. Join us for a delightfully terrifying experience!
